The quality of your scans is directly linked to light levels, we need to maximise lighting in a way that supports 360 scans.
1. Maximise daylight
- Scan at brightest part of the day - don't go out at dusk and dawn
- This simple solution can make a big impact during most construction phases
- Transparent window films
- Once external windows are in, transparent protective films, or removing films (rather than coloured) will maximise daylight entering rooms
- Once external windows are in, transparent protective films, or removing films (rather than coloured) will maximise daylight entering rooms
2. Maximise static lighting
- Ensure all available lights are turned on
- Consider using light strips which can produce great results
3. Mobile lighting solutions
DO NOT USE BEAM TORCHES/HEAD TORCHES
Any targeted light source that throws a beam will result in grainy scenes, processing problems, and location inaccuracy.
ONLY USE A DIFFUSE LIGHT SOURCE THAT PROVIDES WIDE AND EVEN LIGHTING
Our recommendations
For selfie stick mounted cameras - Bushman Halo
For hard hat mounted cameras - Hard hat Halo
For hard hat mounted cameras - LED strip lights (150/230 degree)
