How can I upload scans directly from the mobile app?

You can now upload scans straight from your phone, without needing to connect your camera to your computer.

 

Note: this feature is currently available upon request, it is not enabled by default

Once enabled by Oculo, you will need to Update Site in the mobile app before using

3 dots from homepage > Update sites > Select site > Update

 

Mobile upload can use a significant amount of mobile data, so it is recommended only for short scans in Timelapse mode only.

On iOS - KEEP APP IN FOREGROUND DURING THE UPLOAD - otherwise the upload will be paused.

Step by step

  1. Finish your scan as normal and provide the finishing location
  2. You are presented with 2 mobile upload options:
    1. Upload full scan from mobile - this is the new mobile upload option
    2. Upload minimum data only* - this is just uploading start/stop locations and mobile issues - camera data will need to be uploaded separately via your computer
  3. Select Upload full scan from mobile
  4. Click Prepare upload - this prepares the scan for upload and uploads metadata
  5. Type in the scan description, or leave it as default, then press Start upload
  6. Wait for the upload to complete
  7. When you see Camera data uploaded successfully, you can click the cross in top left to return to home screen

Once the preparation step is complete, you can connect your mobile phone to a WiFi network for the scan upload to reduce mobile data usage or reduce upload time.
