How can I create and manage BIM 360 issues?

Now, you can seamlessly create and update issues for BIM 360 directly from Oculo, and easily cross-reference those issues back from BIM 360 to Oculo in order to see the original, 360-degree context.

The Oculo platform integrates BIM 360's Issue Management to allow efficient interaction from our Web Application. By creating issues from the 360 view, you can also create and keep track of these issues inside BIM 360, and co-ordinate between both seamlessly.

Creating a BIM 360 Issue

  1. To begin using BIM 360, you want will start from the Oculo 360 view of your site.

  2. From here, you will click 'Create Issue' and follow the prompt to create a capture area, which will allow you to start creating your desired BIM 360 issue from within the Web App, shown by the issues pane on the right side of the screen.

  3. You can assign as many of the listed details as you require, and when you're finished, click Create Issue, and your issue will then be created and categorized both within Oculo's system, as well as on your BIM 360 Page.
  4. When the issue has been created, click on the new button onscreen to see the issue, and scroll down to the bottom, where you will find a link that will direct you to the BIM 360 site.

  5. When brought to the BIM 360 page, you will see the same issue you just created from Oculo's side, complete with all the details you filled in, as well as an attachments tab that will have a screenshot of the capture area you selected to give a visual representation of the issue.

  6. From here, all the details you configured in the Web application are viewable. You can also edit them from within BIM 360, and this will work the same way in reverse - editing the details such as the location and due date and updating them on the Oculo side. This means you can configure issues to your preference from either side.

  7. You can also click attachments to find a screenshot of the capture area taken from the issue - this gives you visual context as to what the issue is representing.

  8. Finally, you can scroll to the bottom of the Details tab of your issue in BIM 360, and you will find a similar link to the one that redirected to the current page.

  9. Click the Oculo link, and it take you back to the Oculo Web App, specifically to exactly where the issue was created, along with the details onscreen. This provides you with full context to the issue, which is extremely helpful if you are starting straight from BIM 360.
