Uploading your scans - Web

To upload your scan follow these simple steps:

1. Connect the camera to your computer using the original cable that came with the camera. It should be recognised as a USB device.

Each scan will produce 2 files that both need to be uploaded together. You will know the files are a pair because they would have the same timestamp and the same last 3 digits on the name.

Note: If using Ricoh Theta X and a Macbook then the camera will not show as a USB Drive. Instead you must open Apple Photos app and import the video first, before uploading. Further information at the bottom of this article. For Windows, if you have problems uploading directly from the camera, please copy files to computer first and upload from there (without changing any filenames).

2. Navigate to the Scan Upload page, either from the Home Dashboard by clicking the 3 dots at the top right of the site tile, or from the Site Dashboard by clicking the Settings icon.

Upload > Upload new scan

3. On the Scan upload page, you will see a list of scans that have already been uploaded, and an upload box for new scans.

4. Add a scan description in the box, then either drag the scan files from the USB drive into the box, or click browse files and navigate to the USB drive.

5. On the USB drive, you are looking generally for a pair of files that have the same number at the end of the filename, and the same Date Modified (this should be the date you did the scan). You will find all scan files within the DCIM folder, then Camera01 folder.

6. Once you see your pair of files in the upload box, click Upload 2 files. The system will do some checks to ensure this is a matching pair, and enough files are present - look out for any error messages if this is not the case.

7. You will see an upload progress bar, then a Complete message when the upload is finished. You will also see a new row in the Uploaded scans table showing your newly uploaded scan with Status PROCESSING.

Ensure you leave the tab open, and your computer doesn't go to sleep during the upload. You can continue to work in other browser tabs or other applications during the upload.

8. You can click Done to upload another scan, or exit the page and wait for the scan notification email to tell you when your scan is ready to view.
